So the eAAC+ format at 56k sounds like and MP3 at 128k - so basically one crappy sounding track can be kept in its crappy form only smaller. Sorry, but I'd rather have less music on my player and ENJOY listening to it. Its all these people who are so intent on cramming as much "music" on their player as possible that is the reason it can be hard sourcing good quality music (ie 320 bitrate or Flac). If I want sh#t quality music, I'll listen my local radio station - there's plenty of that to be found there!!

The free version of winamp player can do this easily. Check out the demo/some posts in allaboutsymbian.com. I found the quality to be ok.. though I converted it at 48kbps.

If you have Nero cd burning suite installed, there is an application that can encode to eAAC+. Mac users can try <a href="http://massanti.com/2007/09/30/he-aac-plus-encoder-mac-universal-binary/" target="_blank" title="eAAC+ encoder for mac">this.</a> It is compiled from the official reference encoder code.
